Blofelds DSP 40 - Page 6: Scaling Per Core - Conclusion

Scalability Per Cores :.

This is an area that is of great interest to a lot of end users trying to guage the performance benefits of any future upgrades. Due to the CPU overhead required for this test, it was very difficult to obtain much data for Single Core Systems, as the vast majority could not run the session successfully at any setting.

DualCore Data is still based on PentiumD/ X2-NF3,the data will be regularly updated as latest results from the Conroe / AM2 platforms are collated in the near future

QuadCore Data, has been updated to reflect the preliminary Woodcrest results that are starting to appear.

I have compiled a " best of " to illustrate the scaling capablities per number of cores.

Conclusion :

Well there you have it .

The 1st stage was the culmination of close to 8 months of co-ordinating and collating the posted results to try and present as accurate , unified and qualified data base as possible. There has definately been a few twists and turns along the way, and there are still many areas of investigation to explore and analyze .

As we enter the 2nd Stage , I will continue to update the pages and results as the technilogical roller coaster winds its way thru to the next phase.
